Today Mimi wears her pyjama on her head and sweater over her waist. She is now a new person. Mimi comes out of her house and presses the doorbell. Her mother opens the door. Mimi says that she is Mimi’s friend and can she come in. Her mother invites her in. Mimi enters the room and finds that her father is having breakfast. Her father offers her Plum jam and bread. Mimi replies that she has a taste for apricot jam and bread. Then her parents offer milk mixed with honey. She likes the dish. Mimi requests her parents to permit her to view Mimi’s room. Mimi enters and keeps all items at their proper place. Mimi informs her parents that Mimi likes to keep her room clean and keep sharpen coloured pencils & keep things at proper place. Mimi’s parents are leaving for the market. Mimi informs her parents that Mimi is unable to tie her shoe laces and she wishes that her parents should help her. Her mother ties her shoe laces. They leave for the market with her parents. When they returned back after purchases of food items, she told her parents that she wishes to share a secret. Mimi took her parents to her room and showed them a painting made by her on the bed sheet. Her parents appreciated her painting. The cut the painting and placed it on the wall over her bed. All were happy. Mimi went out of her house, changed her dress and wore her clothes. She rang the bell. Mimi’s mother opened the door and let Mimi enter. Message from the story is that children always have something to share with their parents. Parents must find way to continue the conversation so as to understand the needs of a growing child. Doris Dorrie is a German popular author, movie maker. This book is part of the series about importance of upbringing of a girl child. Coloured illustrations help the reader to relate to the story.
